Why it matters:
The Kindreds are a husband-and-wife duo behind the treasured Kindred restaurant in Davidson, as well as Milkbread and Hello, Sailor. Kindred has consistently been considered one of the best restaurants in the region since its 2015 opening.
The vibe:
Albertine is a fine-dining restaurant with tall ceilings, moody lighting and elegant interior design spearheaded by Katy Kindred.
The 6,100-square-foot restaurant seats 130 people in its dining room and about a dozen people at its bar.
Dig in: Five-time James Beard Award semifinalist Joe Kindred created the overall vision for the menu and will lead the culinary team along with chef de cuisine Mark Machanic.
The seasonal menu offers dishes from the Mediterranean region with a Southern twist, like the crispy pickle-brined quail in an Aleppo pepper sauce paying homage to Nashville Hot Chicken.
The dates with Country Ham and deviled taramasalata is reminiscent of a dish Joe and Katy fell in love with while living in Chicago, according to a press release from the couple.
